My interest in the Arts & Crafts Movement and in particular William Morris, began in my teenage years when I fell in love with Morris’s wallpaper designs. After reading many biographies about the celebrated polymath I also fell in love with the man. In 2009 I turned my passion for the Arts & Crafts Movement into a career by starting my own business selling home interiors featuring designs by the great C19th designers. I have been lecturing about topics related to the Arts & Crafts Movement since 2010 and am an accredited lecturer with The Arts Society (formerly known as NADFAS). I always aim to include the human story behind the artistic endeavours of my lecture subjects.
As well as Arts Society groups around the country, I have given lectures for amongst others: The National Trust, The William Morris Society, the Arts & Crafts Movement in Surrey association, the David Parr House, Deal Music & Arts festival, Women's Institute groups throughout Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, UK wide groups from The University of the Third Age (U3A), The Sick Children's Trust and the Society of Cambridge Tourist Guides.
I am a member of the Museum Collections & Display committee for The William Morris Society, where I served as a Trustee for four years, as well as a regular contributor to the Society’s Magazine and a book reviewer for the Journal of William Morris Studies. In 2023 I assisted the Society with the planning, organisation and funding of a major exhibition about designer John Henry Dearle. I am also a volunteer House Guide and Specialist Lecturer with the David Parr House in Cambridge, a gem of the Arts & Crafts Movement.
I also greatly enjoy supporting the following Heritage and Arts organisations: Friends of Red House, The Friends of the William Morris Gallery, the Arts & Crafts Movement in Surrey and The CFA Voysey Society.
