Hines of Oxford Dearle Compton Tapestry Cushion 13"

From Hines of Oxford, small fine quality cotton jacquard loom woven tapestry cushion with beige linen back featuring the Compton design by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co.

Has a concealed zip-fastener and removable feather pad. Cushion measures 33 cm x 33 cm (13" x 13").

Tapestry fabric is woven in Flanders by master weaves and cushion is Made in England by Hines of Oxford.  We also sell a paper waste bin with this tapestry fabric.

Compton was designed by John Henry Dearle for Morris & Co. in 1895. Dearle took over as Art Director and chief designer at Morris & Co. after the death of William Morris in 1896. Dearle began his lifelong career with the company as a 17-year-old shop assistant in the Morris & Co. Oxford Street shop.
